Soon Sue’s fame eclipses Elisabeth’s former glory, and tensions rise between the two, leading to a potential deadly struggle for identity, control, and of course, fame.

Companion, starring Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid, is the latest genre-blending film you need to add to your watchlist. New Line Cinema describes their darling of a film as “a new kind of love story,” a sci-fi tale that I have to say feels eerily relevant to the world today. When Iris and John head out of town for the weekend with friends, it’s revealed that Iris isn’t human, but she’s a rentable “companion” robot.
In a way that mirrors its striking contrast between dark tones and bright cinematography, Companion delves into the complexities of artificial intimacy in an increasingly disconnected world. As the weekend unfolds, hidden tensions within the group surface, forcing everyone to question what truly defines humanity; and whether love can exist beyond flesh and blood.
