The teaser trailer below for Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch showcases the furry blue menace laying waste to sandcastles Godzilla-style.
Stitch’s wrath means no sandcastle is safe in the teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch movie. Our favorite adorable blue alien makes his live-action debut on May 23, 2025, but fans don’t have to wait that long to catch a glimpse as Disney has decided to dazzle us with a look at Stitch causing havoc. In the Lilo & Stitch teaser trailer, Stitch destroys a sandcastle shaped like Disney’s iconic Magic Kingdom. Stomping through the sand like Godzilla, reducing parts of Tokyo to rubble, Stitch roars with glee, proud of his destruction. It remains to be seen if the teaser is a part of the film or simply a demonstration of Stitch’s live-action antics. But let’s be honest, does it really matter? It’s endearing either way.
While this little teaser only shows off the Stitch half of the titular dynamic duo, we can tell you who’s also aboard to help director Dean Fleischer Camp adapt Dean DeBlois and Chris Sanders’ classic Hawaiian girl and her mutant-experiment-alien-fugitive-dog tale. Leading the lineup are Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani, and Kaipot Dudoit as David Kawena. They’ll also be joined by Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance and Hannah Waddingham in as-yet-undisclosed roles. Tia Carrere, the original voice of Nani Pelekai, is cast in the live-action film as new character Mrs. Kekoa.
Lilo & Stitch will join the studio’s long list of live-action remakes after previous adaptations of the like of Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, Dumbo, Mulan, and The Little Mermaid. Of course Disney won’t stop there. Live-action versions of Bambi, Peter Pan, and Moana are also in the works, with Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui.
